Change Accountancy are supporting a leading Professional Services Firm as they look to appoint a Finance Business Partner to their team. A permanent role, based in either their expanding Glasgow or Edinburgh office, the role will be a link between the operational business areas and finance, across a range of commercial and reporting activities to aid in strategic decision making. Supporting the business, the successful applicant will support and lead in conversations around budget and forecasting activity, revenue and other key metrics, whilst be comfortable engaging with stakeholders and bring an eye for detail in challenging assumptions and helping build commercial business cases.
Experience in a commercial reporting role is expected given, as well as understanding operational elements of a business and the finance impact around these. Key duties of the role will cover the following;
- Monthly analysis and review of financials to commercial plan and budgets
- Working with the business to present key metrics and data on performance with commentary and analysis
- Allocation of revenue and reviewing intercompany costs
- Assisting with commercial review to aid in the businesses decision making process – ad hoc analysis
- Supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting process, participating in reforecasting and review
- Quarterly business unit review and analysis, working with stakeholders to determine key trends
- Allocation of monthly accruals
- Presentation to senior management of targets and performance of the business
- Leading on process improvement and enhancing current working processes
- Use of AI and Data to inform decision making
Applicants will be qualified with experience in a similar role, with a commercial edge and strong communication skills or be able to demonstrate how they have supported a business in operational decision making and or monthly reporting. The ability to present and be comfortable analysing financial data to identify key trends and translate variances to budget is important for the business and will be discussed at interview.
