Role Purpose
The Programme Officer (Adults) will support the delivery, coordination, and monitoring of key programmes within the Adults Team, with a particular focus on Sexual Health commissioning and the Birmingham Fast Track Cities commitments. The postholder will provide operational, administrative, and programme support to ensure effective commissioning, partnership working, and delivery of public health outcomes for adults in Birmingham.
The role contributes to improving sexual health outcomes, reducing inequalities, strengthening HIV prevention and treatment pathways, and supporting Birmingham’s progress as a Fast Track City committed to reduce incidents of blood borne viruses.

Grade C- £35,412 – £44,075

Programme & Commissioning Support
- Support the administration and coordination of Sexual Health commissioning activities, including contract monitoring, data collection, and preparation of performance information.
- Assist with the operational delivery of Fast Track Cities projects, events, and partnership activities.
- Help maintain commissioning documentation, workplans, service information, and governance records.
- Contribute to drafting reports, briefing notes, updates, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
Data, Monitoring & Reporting
- Support the collection, organisation, and validation of service data relating to sexual health and HIV prevention programmes.
- Assist in tracking KPIs, activity levels, and performance indicators for commissioned services.
- Provide routine administrative support for programme monitoring meetings and reporting cycles.
Stakeholder & Partnership Support
- Support effective working relationships across NHS, community, voluntary sector, and system partners involved in sexual health and Fast Track Cities activity.
- Provide coordination support for partnership meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes, and follow‑up actions.
- Assist in communication and engagement work with stakeholders, including supporting community‑based initiatives when required.
Project & Administrative Responsibility
- Provide day‑to‑day administrative and organisational support to the Adults Team.
- Maintain effective programme documentation, filing, and version control.
- Support procurement and commissioning processes in line with Council requirements.
- Help coordinate small‑scale projects, pilots, and workstreams linked to sexual health and HIV.
- Support tasks related to information governance, FOI/SAR responses, and data‑sharing agreements where appropriate.
