Grant Thornton UK LLP is part of a global network of independent audit, tax and advisory firms. We are building a new digital team as part of the firm’s £500m multi‑year investment to transform how we work and deliver for clients.
The Product Manager is an individual contributor role, owning the strategic product direction for assigned digital products, including AI‑enabled platforms and enterprise tooling, defining what gets built and why, ensuring measurable impact, and raising product management capability across the firm.
We are happy to talk flexible working and consider reduced hours and job shares, and we’ll support you to balance your work and life.
A look into the role
- Define and maintain outcome‑focused product roadmaps aligned to user needs and firm priorities
- Translate strategic direction into clear, sequenced product plans with defined success criteria
- Make and communicate prioritisation decisions, articulating trade‑offs to stakeholders and leadership
- Develop business cases and contribute to investment decisions, including build vs. buy recommendations
- Lead discovery through user research, data analysis, stakeholder interviews, hypothesis testing and rapid prototyping to validate problems before committing to solutions
- Establish feedback loops drawing on user input, operational data, and delivery metrics
- Champion evidence‑based, user‑centred decision‑making across delivery teams
- Partner with product owners, engineering, UX, QA and other digital teams to deliver against product vision, accountable for outcomes rather than day‑to‑day delivery management
- Define success metrics and KPIs, tracking landed impact as measurable business change post‑deployment, not just feature release
- Apply structured stop/pivot assessments to under‑performing initiatives and recommend discontinuation where evidence does not support continued investment
Knowing you’re right for us
- Significant product management experience with a track record of strategic ownership, defining what to build and why rather than just managing delivery
- End‑to‑end delivery of digital products in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments and proven ownership of AI or data products, including model behaviour, prompt iteration, evaluation design, and human‑in‑the‑loop workflows
- Experience in regulated or compliance‑sensitive environments, with working knowledge of data governance and privacy‑by‑design
- Experience evaluating and managing third‑party platforms and SaaS vendors
- Strong prioritisation skills and a track record of making hard trade‑off decisions under real constraints
- Skilled in user research, data analysis, and structured discovery, including problem framing, prototyping, MVP design, and iterative validation
- Sufficient technical literacy to assess feasibility, challenge engineering estimates, and make informed build decisions in an API‑and‑platform‑driven environment
- Commercial acumen to connect product decisions to business outcomes and contribute to investment cases
- Excellent stakeholder management and the credibility to influence senior leaders
- Familiarity with agile product practices and effective partnering with product owners, tech leads, and engineering teams
