**JOB SUMMARY**

The Manager, Insurance u2013 EMEA supports the Insurance Department to procure and manage Marriottu2019s international insurance program and protect the Company and its customers/associates against various property, liability, employee, and financial risks. As a member of the Global Insurance team, the Manager, Insurance u2013 EMEA administers critical elements of Marriottu2019s insurance programs within the EMEA Continent. Such work includes coverage placement, analysis, contract review, renewal oversight and submissions.

The position also assists the Director, Insurance u2013 EMEA in the negotiation and placement of certain local insurance coverages, as well as assisting in the negotiation of operational and development contracts, resolving owner insurance inquiries, providing direction to internal clients, and participating in due diligence activity for acquisitions. The position is also responsible for coverage analysis, contract review, and consult to Owner and Franchisee procured insurance programs, and oversight of allocation of insurance premium for various coverage lines of business. The position interacts with Marriottu2019s hotel operations, development, hotel owners, corporate staff/management, insurance brokers, insurers, and outside vendors.

Education and Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive job experience in insurance underwriting; brokerage or risk management University degree in corporate risk management or related field. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint)

**Core Work Activities**

Assist in managing EMEAu2019s – casualty insurance program, including marketing strategy, underwriting data collection, actuarial analysis, pricing & terms, and integration of new properties. Oversee the International Compliance Tracking program and administration of project partner audits. Manage data collection processes for the EMEA portfolio, ensuring data accuracy in risk management systems and broker data. Ensure continuity of coverage for participating Managed hotels and contractual compliance for non-participating/franchised hotels. Conduct high-risk Business Case Analysis (BCA) for hotels, including consulting services, negotiation of insurance provisions, and coordination with Global Safety & Security. Interface with Global Safety & Security to identify and define risk mitigation control measures. Lead marketing and integration of Marriottu2019s Liability insurance program to legacy SPG and Protea hotels. Manage Franchised insurance offerings for improved contract compliance and deployment of marketing materials. Assist in the analysis and administration of premium allocations for the continent as part of the casualty insurance program. Monitor insurance markets to maintain program competitiveness and conduct industry benchmarking analysis. Manage the hotel deflagging/deactivation process and removal of properties from coverage. Assist with premium allocation, invoice reconciliation, and management of annual maintenance schedules. Manage day-to-day broker and insurer matters, including timely issuance of policies and invoicing. Oversee third-party vendor/concessionaire insurance requirements and provide training for hotel level associates and above property departments. Maintain international insurance pipeline, schedules, and hotel billing to ensure continuity of coverage. Work with multi-national insurance advisors to determine in-country insurance conditions and review local policies. Manage the department risk management information system (RMIS), including tracking insurance compliance and continuous system improvements. Conduct quality checks on RMIS data to ensure information is up to date and accurate.

Contract & Development Support

Support Development group with consult, review, and/or drafting of appropriate contractual insurance provisions. Support continent operations through negotiation and manuscription of contractual insurance and indemnity provisions for Franchise and Management Agreements. Interpret and explain coverage and/or potential risks to internal and external developers, owners, vendors, and other business partners.

Hotel Operations Support

Assist analysis and review of Business Case Analyses (BCA) in partnership with Global Safety & Security Department representative(s) and recommend appropriate insurance language for activities that fall within high-risk categories. Support the Franchisee insurance offering (HOOP) for improved contract compliance and management of marketing material, internal and external communications, broker/insurer relations etc. Identify continental coverage gaps or overlaps of insurance across disciplines. Respond to hotel day-to-day insurance, premium, coverage, policy, and certificate questions. Create and provide insurance training support to hotels, Finance, Legal, Asset Management, Development, Franchise Operations, and other related disciplines. Organize and develop training seminars, workshops, presentations and/or summaries for internal and external purposes. Conduct training for peer departments (e.g., Law, Development, Finance, Procurement) on insurance provisions within legal agreements. Monitor insurance markets development and communicate with hotels and related business partners. Conduct competitor and industry benchmarking analysis. Conduct special projects as needed.

Insurance Compliance

Lead the development and administration of insurance compliance tracking document for new and existing hotels,. Monitor hotels opening (and closing) progress, communicate with related internal and external stakeholders, and support hotels in achieving insurance compliance prior to opening. Lead communication with hotels, owners, Pre-Opening, Franchise Operations, Finance, Asset Management, Legal. Develop insurance compliance guidance to help hotels and ownersu2019 complete compliance review in timely manner. Lead and maintain close collaboration with service provider, hotels, Finance, and Risk Management Departmentu2019s associates on daily basis. Lead to handle all questions related to the process and system, including uploading insurance and contractual requirement, update of compliance status, review owneru2019s insurance policy and determine compliance status. Monitor and lead the improvement of working processes and efficiency. Lead the communication with inside and outside IT function regarding technology enhancement. Maintain good relationship with insurance broker and insurer. Communicate changes of local insurance policy forms, critical terms and regulations with hotels, owners, Finance, Legal, Asset Management, Development.
