Mobile Maintenance Operative (Electrical or Mechanical Bias) – Havant

SSE Facilities Management department is recruiting a Mobile Maintenance Operative to support our corporate sites with maintenance, service, and repair of a variety of building services. The successful person must hold a base trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical and demonstrate multi‑trade experience within a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake maintenance repairs, installations, or servicing work as directed by the FM Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.
  • Carry out multi‑skilled activities within the Facilities Management remit.
  • Observe and comply with all SSE work practices and ensure compliance with the appropriate Health & Safety statutory requirements at all times.
  • Carry out site inductions, escort and issue permits for third‑party contractors attending SSE sites.
  • Participate in the company’s out‑of‑hours emergency standby rota as required.
  • Travel between sites; a flexible approach and a full driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to City & Guilds, SVQ or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Multi‑trade experience within a similar role.
  • Base trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical.
  • Experience working with plant such as air handling units, air conditioning, generators, boilers, plumbing, electrical, UPS and fire alarm systems.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and requirements.
  • Ability to support and contribute to M&E and building fabric maintenance.

Working Pattern

Permanent | Full Time – The role requires travel between sites; a flexible approach and a full driving licence are essential.
