Controls Engineer / Control Software Engineer
Salary: up to £55k (negotiable) plus benefits.
Location: East Midlands (commutable from Nottingham, Leicester and Coventry).

As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Controls Engineer to complement their established professional team and deliver machine control system solutions allied to a range of automated machinery: based projects.
Responsibilities
- Write and develop software, PLC and HMI coding for various automation projects.
- Responsible for the electrical design and creation of machine control system solutions for special purpose automated machinery projects.
- Deliver control and safety systems that comply with the machinery directive and relevant standards.
- Design electrical systems, select components and generate detailed circuit diagrams.
- Integrate various robots, including SCARA, Delta and 6-axis.
- Liaise extensively with customers, suppliers and team members; maintain effective communication at all levels.
- Work autonomously and as part of a team dedicated to delivering projects within budgetary and timescale constraints.
- Follow projects through design, development and commissioning stages of machine control and safety systems.
- Create associated electrical documentation including circuit diagrams, cable schedules, installation documents, BOMs and bills of materials.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant European and international safety standards and correctly select and procure components.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years experience of software design and PLC coding, with particular experience of working with Omron, Siemens and Allen Bradley equipment.
- Comprehensive skills and experience of electrical design for machine automation using ePlan.
- Knowledge and understanding of the various national and international electrical standards for machine design and machine safety systems and requirements to CE mark machine systems.
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in electrical/electronic engineering or a closely related control system discipline.
- Flexible approach to travel to customer sites across the UK if required.
