About the Company: Our client is a growing, specialist design and technology business focused on smart HVAC control solutions. Established in 2016, they have built a strong reputation for delivering innovative, integrated thermostat and control systems into high-end environments.

With a small, agile team, the business operates across luxury residential, hotels, and commercial buildings, working closely with BMS providers and AV integrators. Their products are used in premium projects where performance, design, and integration are key.

Due to continued growth and increasing project demand, they are now looking to appoint a Project Design Engineer to support the delivery and development of their solutions from their Newbury office.

Role Overview

This is a varied and hands‑on role combining design, technical support, and product development. You will be responsible for producing HVAC layouts and schematics, supporting system integration, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders across the project lifecycle.

The role offers significant variety, working on pre‑specified buildings while collaborating with BMS companies, AV installers, and internal teams. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to R&D activities, supporting the testing and development of new products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for control systems and BMS integrations
  • Liaise with sales, project management, and external partners to ensure smooth delivery
  • Work closely with BMS providers and AV integrators on system coordination
  • Support testing, validation, and development of new products within R&D
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across projects

Key Requirements

  • Understanding of HVAC systems and control philosophies
  • Knowledge of systems such as chillers and hydronic (e.g. 2-pipe) systems
  • Understanding of BMS systems (desirable)
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as BACnet and Modbus (highly desirable)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple stakeholders
  • Self‑motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently
