SUPPLY OFFICER

NEW CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE IN BELFAST FOR A SUPPLY OFFICER

  • Full time on-site in Belfast
  • Contract until November 2026
  • £29ph via Umbrella
  • 35 hour week, with premium overtime rates for any overtime
  • BPSS clearance required prior to starting

WHAT WILL THE SUPPLY OFFICER BE DOING?

The role of the Supply Chain Coordinator involves managing a portfolio of suppliers acting as the main on-site liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless material flow, performance management, and supplier recovery where needed. This role plays a vital part in improving operational efficiency, driving continuous improvement, and shaping the future of the supply chain through digitalisation and transformation initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Managing a portfolio of suppliers daily using existing and emerging digital tools.
  • Anticipating risks, manage demand and forecasts, and drive proactive mitigation actions.
  • Leading and driving supplier recoveries, ensuring on-time and in-full delivery performance.
  • Challenging supplier performance and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for supply chain queries from operations.
  • Coordinating supplier working parties and manage order books, including maintaining MRP Master Data.
  • Using data management tools to analyse performance and make informed decisions.
  • Optimising stock levels and ordering strategies for procured goods.
  • Partnering with Supply Chain Quality Managers and Commercial Buyers to deliver an integrated procurement approach.
  • Contributing to supply chain transformation projects, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement.

WE NEED THE SUPPLY OFFICER TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING…

  • Solid experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Strong understanding of MRP and SAP within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proven supplier-facing experience, including performance management and recovery activities.
  • Experience with digital tools and automation within a supply chain context.
  • A good understanding of LEAN and project management principles.
