The Global Business Development Leadership team sets the strategy in consultation with the Global Strategy Board and Global Practice Executives. The BD teams are led by regional heads of Business Development aligned to regional boards: Asia Pacific, Middle East Africa, North America, UK, Europe.
Responsibilities
- Pitching: Support pitches with the wider BD team, understand RFPs and ensure final drafts meet requirements; source standard content (company information, CVs, capability statements) tailored to the client/sector; prepare briefs for formatting to RFP requirements; assist with pitch presentations; update procurement portals with standard company information; liaise with stakeholders for input.
- Event Management: Manage in-person or online client events from start to finish; manage event lists and invitations; coordinate production of event collateral (invitations, presentation content, marketing materials); liaise with vendors for logistics; project manage webinar delivery; attend events and provide on-site management; report and analyze ROI of events.
- Marketing/CRM systems: Create client mailings for campaigns; manage distribution; produce brochures and key marketing materials; produce CRM activity reports to support campaigns; use analytics to monitor performance and ensure ROI; create and maintain content on the firm’s website; assist with podcasts; act as brand/process ambassador with opportunities to lead specialist areas.
- Directories: Contribute to the legal directory process (content collation, submissions, interviews, reporting); assist with client relationship management programmes and client feedback analysis; support revenue-generating initiatives with market research and data/financial reporting.
Essential Skills And Experience
Business Development Executives are provided with training across core BD & marketing disciplines and exposure to the firm’s core sectors. A willingness to learn, positive attitude and sensible judgement are valued.
The Ideal Candidate
- Be educated to degree level or possess equivalent experience.
- Have at least one year’s experience in business development and marketing within a professional services organisation.
- Be an effective team-player with good interpersonal skills.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritise multiple tasks, manage stakeholder expectations and meet deadlines.
- Have excellent IT skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet research). Knowledge of common legal CRM and marketing systems for client mailings/webinars is preferable.
- Be able to develop effective working relationships with the wider team and across the business.
