The Project Manager will be responsible for delivery of Projects within the programmes of work, with full ownership of development, budgets, timing and delivery. This includes leadership of a cross‑functional team towards completion of tasks and problem resolution in alignment with the internal APQP system for delivery. The role covers quoting through to PPAP completion and production handover, and will manage multiple projects in parallel.
Responsibilities
- Work with engineering, purchasing and business development to provide tooling budgets for quoting and manage performance during program delivery
- Manage Engineering Change Requests via the cross‑functional team through to quotation and execution
- Support and drive all planning, development and problem‑solving relating to the program
- Develop and maintain project timing plans, gateways and track performance to delivery
- Monitor adherence to customer contract requirements
- Lead APQP meetings, driving accountability
- Define Burst Build and Ramp Plans for delivery of products
- Create production launch KPI requirements
- Manage KPI performance through Daily CFT meetings and report concerns through the program manager
- Identify and resolve potential programme issues and/or problems (APQP)
- Oversee programme‑related engineering change activity with focus on adherence to established processes and timely change implementation
- Identify, plan for and implement cost‑reduction and/or quality improvement initiatives based on product, productivity and/or process improvements throughout the project lifetime
- Understand process documentation and customer‑specific requirements as they relate to the programme (APQP)
- Support and coordinate with programme manager(s) in preparation of RFQs and proposals, statement of work and specifications and execution of contract requirements
- Maintain strong working relationships with key programme‑executing functions (Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Materials) in support of customer expectations
- Liaise with external and internal customers and suppliers
- Follow and comply with all operational procedures and policies as outlined in the employee handbook, quality and environment programmes
- Understand, promote and practice Magna’s philosophies and employee charter
- Perform other duties as required
