Join us as a Data Governance Analyst – 21 hour contract. You will be working in the Chief Data Analytics Office of UK Corporate Bank and Global Transaction Banking. Your responsibilities will include identifying and presenting key risks around data, updating metadata, data flows and data quality controls, and supporting the Trade and Working Capital product within the Corporate Bank. You will liaise with Data Stewards, Data Owners, Application Owners, Data Architects and Domain Owners, running and managing a data working group.
Location: Glasgow.
Purpose of the role
To develop, implement, and maintain effective governance frameworks for all data and records across the bank’s global operations.
Accountabilities
- Development and maintenance of a comprehensive data and records governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Monitoring data quality and records metrics and compliance with standards across the organization.
- Identification and addressing of data and records management risks and gaps.
- Development and implementation of a records management programme that ensures proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval and disposal of records.
- Development and implementation of a data governance strategy that aligns with the bank’s overall data management strategy and business objectives.
- Provision of Group‑wide guidance and training on Data and Records Management standard requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Understanding of why data and records management is important for a financial institution and the business impact of getting it wrong.
- Stakeholder engagement, including communication to MD level.
- Experience running a formal forum – agenda, papers, minutes.
- Knowledge of Barclays Data Portal or an equivalent data metadata cataloguing solution.
- Knowledge of AI and how it could be used across a bank.
- Knowledge of Corporate Banking/Global Transaction Banking business and its products.
- Strong skill set in risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology.
