Job title: Banking Operations Analyst – Core / C
Location: London & Milton Keynes
Job Summary
Responsible for all documentation, administration and reconciliation to support the daily review, identification and posting of customer payments related to Buy-To-Let (BTL) & Home Purchase Plan (HPP) business.
Part of the centralised payment control team for processing payments originating from Treasury, Real Estate, Commercial Finance and BTL/HPP transactions.
To provide cover when required for transaction processing relating to Treasury, Bridging Finance, Commercial Finance and BTL/HPP completion activity.
Please note: the position is office based with a Hybrid Working policy with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days a week. This role can be based from either our London or Milton Keynes office.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct daily reconciliations for core Banking accounts. Review transactions and identify fees types and various transaction types and pass entries in the general ledger core banking system.
- Identify payment classifications and update customer records in the customer servicing system.
- Identify differences between contractual repayments early prepayments and reflect accordingly in the customer services system, liaising with the Customer Services team as required, and ensure correct postings in the banking general ledger system.
- Process ad-hoc queries and payment refunds as requested, including complaint payments and refund of payments. Update customer service system customer records if required.
- To provide cover when required for transaction processing relating to Treasury, Bridging Finance, Commercial Finance and BTL/HPP completion activity.
- Assist with external auditors and annual Shariah audit when requested.
- Assist the Head of Banking Operations with requirements and testing of new products and offerings.
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this role, for which the role holder has the necessary experience and/or training.
Skills required
- Exposure to a Customer Service/Back-office environment within a financial institution.
- Able to appreciate an understanding of transaction lifecycle management and know the principals of “four eyes” control.
- Effective communication skills, comfortable dealing with employees at all levels and be able to build cross divisional relationships.
- Able to demonstrate a “customer” or “service” orientated approach.
- Able to work autonomously.
- Must be innovative, providing solutions which are appropriate for the business and fit for purpose.
- GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
- Understanding of Islamic Banking products is an advantage.
- Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ)
