This is a high impact analytics role sitting at the heart of pricing and portfolio decision making within a digitally led insurer. You will take ownership of portfolio performance, shape risk selection strategy, and influence how pricing intent translates into real world outcomes. The role offers genuine exposure to senior stakeholders, complex commercial problems, and a business that invests heavily in data and analytics.

Data and analytics sit at the core of how they operate, with advanced pricing, underwriting and portfolio management capabilities embedded across the business. The Role

You will sit within an alternative pricing and product function, working closely with pricing, data science and underwriting teams to manage the shape and performance of the portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning portfolio risk and performance, using loss ratio and commercial analytics to assess whether pricing segments are delivering against intent.
  • Acting as a gatekeeper for pricing segments, recommending when cohorts should remain open, be repriced, constrained or redesigned.
  • Translating analytical insight into clear, evidence based recommendations for pricing strategy and model refinement.
  • Leading cross functional projects across pricing, data science, underwriting and governance to address emerging portfolio risks.
  • Ensuring strong governance and fair customer outcomes, challenging decisions where needed and aligning with regulatory expectations.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Strong commercial experience in pricing, underwriting or portfolio analytics within insurance or a closely related sector.
  • Proven ability to analyse portfolio performance and turn insight into practical pricing or risk selection actions.
  • Experience working with Python or SQL to interrogate data and produce actionable analysis.
  • Confidence influencing stakeholders across technical and non technical teams.
  • A structured, curious mindset with the ability to define problems and drive them from analysis to decision.
