Job Description:

Job Summary

The role is responsible for developing and managing FX e-trading algorithms and controls to maximise electronic trading performance and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maximising eTPI along with colleagues in the ATQ team and growing the eFX franchise within the confines of the regulatory framework.
  • Responsible for spotting new revenue opportunities in the FX E-Trading franchise and being informed on any changes within the quant team.
  • Responsible for the specification, delivery and continued maintenance/operation of automated pricing and trading algorithms, models and controls which further the business and risk management objectives.
  • Responsible for optimising client spread‑capture / hedging using big data analysis.
  • Responsible for generating alpha signals for use by algorithms and models in FX E‑Trading.
  • Responsible for delivering the back testing / analysis / monitoring necessary to achieve the above.
  • Responsible for working together with colleagues in IT to achieve the above.
  • Responsible for liaising with E‑/V‑sales around appropriate client pricing.
  • Consulted on models and algorithms developed by others in FX E‑Trading.
  • Ensure that the business meets its obligations for the prevention of money laundering under the Group Policy and Standards and under local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that there are appropriate and documented internal controls and procedures in place.
  • Monitor the operation of such procedures and controls and regularly review them to ensure that they reflect any changes in products, systems, policy and regulations.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values; set appropriate tone and expectations amongst colleagues and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and sharing best practice.
  • Lead and reinforce strategic change and ensure the organisation structure and people programmes are aligned and geared towards supporting change.

Skills and Requirements

  • Quantitative and analytical experience, including big data analysis, backtesting, and model/algorithm performance monitoring.
  • Strong FX / eFX product and electronic trading knowledge (pricing, spread capture, hedging, alpha generation) is highly desired.
  • Hands‑on experience with automated pricing and trading algorithms, including specification, delivery, and ongoing maintenance/controls.
  • Proficiency in Python and Java and use of analytics platforms; experience building tooling and analytics for trading and risk.
  • Experience with plotting/charting tools and working closely with quants on model implementation and analysis.
  • Front‑end / UI analytics experience, ideally with React and JavaScript for building and enhancing analytics dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of risk, internal controls, and regulatory/AML requirements in electronic trading.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with IT, quants, sales, and risk/control partners to deliver business objectives.
  • Commercial mindset with a track record of identifying revenue opportunities and optimising client pricing.
