EQB Group is seeking an experienced Group Health & Safety Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of health, safety, and compliance across our growing group of construction businesses, including groundworks, civil engineering, brickwork, plant hire, and general construction divisions.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, risk management, and operational best practice across multiple live sites and business units.
You will work closely with directors, site managers, and operational teams to drive a proactive safety culture, ensuring robust systems are in place, and maintaining compliance with all legal and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee group-wide health & safety strategy across all subsidiary companies
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews
- Lead risk assessments and method statement reviews
- Ensure O&M manuals and compliance documentation are accurate and complete
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain ISO / H&S management systems
- Deliver toolbox talks, training, and safety briefings
- Support pre-construction and tender compliance requirements
- Drive continual improvement and Gold Standard safety practices
What We’re Looking For
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (essential)
- Proven experience in construction health & safety leadership
- Strong background in civils, groundworks, brickwork, or general construction
- Knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM regulations
- Experience carrying out audits, RAMS reviews, and site inspections
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Full UK driving licence
