The post of Senior Practitioner for Complex Emotional and Relational Needs, based at Prescott House in Little Hulton but working across GMMH Salford Division, is now vacant.
About the role
The role is varied, involving providing psychological interventions (SCM/MBT) in a group and 1:1 setting, managing a small caseload of adults with a diagnosis of Complex Emotional and Relational Needs, as well as providing input to the team to support, assess and manage the wider team caseload, and supporting the wider leadership of the team.
The post will be part of the trust psychological health hub, working closely with psychology colleagues to provide the psychological pathway across the Salford division, expanding our non‑pharmacological offer to the client group.
The Practitioner will work in a busy and dynamic multidisciplinary service, in a supportive team focused on recovery for service users, development and growth of staff, encouraging ongoing learning and service development.
They will be supported by an established and cohesive CMHT and a key part of the trust transformation planning and action.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision, support and consultation to all staff and the multi‑agency team.
- Act as a Care Co‑ordinator for a caseload of up to 12 highly complex cases.
- Carry out and develop detailed assessments and formulations in the wider team or service.
- Contribute to the development and provide therapeutic interventions via relevant clinical pathways, and engage with any relevant additional training which supports the role (including Structured Clinical Management (SCM) and Mentalisation‑Based Therapy (MBT)).
- Provide specific training to the wider team/services as appropriate.
- Deliver and facilitate therapeutic evidence‑based interventions.
- Collaborate and liaise with other specialist clinicians working with complex emotional and relational needs across the district to develop services that deliver optimal evidence‑based care.
- Develop and contribute to evaluation and audit.
- Provide support and specialist assessment/formulation.
- Deliver and facilitate a reflective practice supervision group in the CMHT.
- Contribute to the delivery of family interventions for complex emotional and relational needs in the team/locality.
- Lead specialised intensive clinical supervision in the locality team for clinicians working with service users presenting with complex emotional and relational needs.
