Job Title: Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant Location: South Liverpool Salary: £105 – £115 per day Contract Type: Full-time / Term-time (with potential for permanent placement)
Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school community in South Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and contributing positively to their learning and development.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
- Support the class teacher in delivering tailored and accessible learning activities
- Assist with pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Implement and support Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role
- Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs
- Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt learning approaches to meet individual needs
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. , Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
