Service Engineer – Ansul & Fire Extinguisher

Full Time – £DOE + Overtime + On Call and Call out
Job Purpose
To carry out servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems; to ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date; to ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to; and to ensure compliance with the GFS management system as it applies to this position.
Key Accountabilities
- Carry out fire extinguisher and Ansul fire suppression system servicing and remedials at various sites such as restaurants and hotels.
- Provide a good level of customer service and a professional manner at all times.
- Arrange personal diary and book appointments with clients.
- Complete paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
- Participate in the on‑call rota alongside colleagues.
- Ensure all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety.
- Monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment; record inspection reports.
- Keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work.
- Have working knowledge of statutory regulations and be aware of all safety procedures.
About You
- Demonstrable experience of servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems.
- Qualifications to service fire extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems in accordance with British Standards.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices.
- Strong customer care focus.
- Proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights of up to 25kg.
Training Provided
If you already have experience of Ansul R102 systems, that’s great, but if not and you have the right aptitude and relevant skills, we may be able to train you to work with the systems you will need. You might have experience of servicing extinguishers or another suppression/sprinkler system. If you are from outside the industry and have experience in BT/Sky installations, or if you are a chef and understand how kitchen systems operate, we would consider these as transferable skills. We will happily train you on the required systems.
