Estates Campus Manager (Procurement and Contract Management Lead)

Hours: Full time (37 hours each week, all year round)

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £39,372 a year + benefits

Location: North Notts College, Worksop (working across all of the RNN Group campuses as/when required)

About the Role

We are seeking a Campus Estates Manager for our North Notts College campus. This high‑impact role allows you to shape the look and feel of the learning environment our students deserve, overseeing the entire physical environment while leading procurement and contract management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Group Procurement & Contract Leadership: Manage procurement and contract activities across all Group campuses and act as the primary manager for external service providers.
  • Performance Excellence: Use KPIs and SLAs to conduct “contract health checks,” managing risks, renewals, and annual terminations.
  • Value for Money (VFM): Drive cost‑efficiency by consolidating multi‑site contracts and leveraging economies of scale, ensuring “social value” and sustainability are at the heart of the supply chain.

Campus & Facilities Management

  • Team Leadership: Manage the on‑site Estates team, including recruitment, performance management, and rota planning.
  • Capital & Minor Works: Develop and implement maintenance, repair, and replacement programmes for college assets, buildings, and vehicles.
  • Safety & Compliance: Act as the internal auditor for the Group’s Compliance Register. Ensure full adherence to COSHH, statutory testing schedules, and health & safety legislation.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Oversee emergency procedures, lockdown testing, and the implementation of Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs).

Sustainability & Innovation

  • Net Zero Champion: Track carbon, water, and waste data. Develop and implement Group environmental strategies to hit sustainability targets.
  • Future‑Proofing: Research and experiment with new ways to improve buildings and reduce environmental footprint.

Community & Stakeholder Liaison

  • Local Representative: Act as the point of contact for the local community, planning authorities and utility providers on campus matters.
  • Project Management: Inspect and certify contractor works to ensure they meet quality, safety, and safeguarding standards.

You Will

  • Have experience managing within an estates/facilities management environment in the education sector.
  • Have led a large and diverse team and developed, implemented, and maintained policies and procedures.
  • Be able to undertake audits, inspections and ensure site safety and suitability for learning.
  • Have experience with contract management, procurement and establishing service level agreements.
  • Hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths, a facilities management qualification and be comfortable with Microsoft Windows, Office 365 and internal databases.
  • Have a procurement qualification; if not, the role offers support to obtain it.

Qualifications

  • Previous estates/facilities management experience in education.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement and contract management best practices.
  • Understanding of health & safety legislation, COSHH and emergency preparedness.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
