Key Account Sales Representative – Biotech Reagents (UK)

A fast-growing international biotechnology company is expanding its UK commercial team and is seeking a high-performing Key Account Sales Representative to drive growth across the UK industrial life sciences market.

Headquartered in Beijing, the company operates internationally with offices across Europe and North America, supporting a growing global customer base across pharmaceutical, biotech, and research sectors.

The Role

  • Full-time, remote/home-based (UK)
  • Territory: London and Northern UK (excluding Oxford–Cambridge corridor)
  • Salary: £50,000–£70,000 base plus commission
  • 3-month guaranteed commission period
  • Direct reporting to European General Manager
  • Lean team structure with strong growth potential

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow key accounts across the UK biotech and pharmaceutical industrial sector
  • Drive new business acquisition across recombinant proteins and biological reagents
  • Build long-term commercial relationships with pharmaceutical and biotech clients
  • Manage your territory independently while collaborating with global technical and commercial teams
  • Identify new market opportunities and contribute to regional growth strategy

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a commercially strong and scientifically grounded sales professional with experience in the biological reagents space.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field (PhD is an advantage)
  • Experience in biotech reagent sales or a closely related commercial role is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of biological reagents such as recombinant proteins, antibodies, or similar products
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Proven presentation and interpersonal abilities in a client-facing role
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel for business when required
  • Highly motivated, independent, and self-driven personality suited to a remote sales environment

Preferred background:

  • Experience with companies such as Abcam, Thermo Fisher, Merck, Bio-Rad, GenScript, CST, R&D Systems, Sigma-Aldrich, or similar
  • Existing pharmaceutical industry customer relationships
  • Experience working within international or fast-growth biotech environments

Additional Notes

  • This is a lean, high-impact commercial role within a small UK team (currently 2 people, planned to remain under 4 in the short term)
  • Supported by a local technical and scientific support function
  • The ideal candidate will be commercially driven but scientifically credible, with strong market access in the UK pharma sector
  • Stability and long-term commitment are important, with clear reasoning for career progression moves
