Our client, a top-performing global investment firm, is seeking to appoint a Principal-level investment analyst to its London-based team. The role focuses on investing in stressed, distressed, and special situations credit opportunities across developed and emerging markets. The successful candidate will play a central role in driving investment activity across the full lifecycle, supporting the portfolio management team and CIO, and assisting in other key areas of the firm (capital formation, trading, origination, etc.).
Through exceptional performance and continually increasing AUM, our client is aiming to reinforce its exciting opportunistic credit investment team by hiring a talented investment professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis, structuring, and execution of distressed and special situations investments
- Underwrite opportunities across bonds, loans, CDS, claims, reorg equities, and related instruments
- Develop robust financial models, including downside and recovery analyses
- Manage and monitor portfolio positions, engaging with stakeholders and creditor groups as required
- Contribute to investment committee processes and portfolio construction
- Support origination of new opportunities across global markets
Candidate Profile
- 7–12+ years’ experience in distressed/special situations investing, restructuring, or credit-focused investment roles
- Strong technical expertise in financial modelling, credit analysis, and capital structures
- Demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy and sound investment judgement
- Excellent academic credentials and communication skills
