Job Summary
A reputable North West manufacturing engineering business is looking for an NPI/Quality Engineer with an FAI background to join its skilled team, within a friendly, fast-paced and clean working environment.
The position is permanent. The business has a strong focus on developing its people with the potential to further their careers.
Salary is competitive with a generous holiday entitlement of 33 days including bank holidays. The 36‑hour working week is covered over 4 days (7:00 am-4:30 pm Monday‑Thursday) and a performance bonus is paid every six months. Friday overtime is often available and the role includes a benefits package with discounts from leading retailers.
Responsibilities
- Commit to working safely and comply with the 5S standards.
- Perform NPI related quality engineering tasks and support the transition of new products.
- Read drawings and specifications and determine whether manufactured items conform.
- Manage non‑conformance and MRB processes.
- Raise concessions and prepare FAIR.
- Support APQP/PPAP activities.
- Identify waste elimination opportunities and continuously improve processes.
- Make effective decisions, lead solutions and communicate results.
Key Process Knowledge
- Manufacturing methods from material to finished products.
- Aerospace and defence standards of work.
- The structure and workings of a QMS/IMS.
- Various inspection methods (hand tools, Keyence, CMM).
- Non‑conformance / MRB procedures.
- Concession raising.
- FAIR / FAIR preparation.
- APQP/PPAP.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a QE within a manufacturing environment.
- Ideal candidate will have timed‑served inspection experience and can read drawings and specifications to determine conformity.
