Overview

A chilled food manufacturing site in Leeds is looking to add a Quality Assurance Technician to its technical team. This position supports daily quality and food safety activity on the factory floor, ensuring products are produced in line with required standards and compliance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality checks throughout production
• Monitor control points and respond to any deviations identified
• Complete and maintain accurate quality records
• Assist with internal audit schedules and support external audit preparation
• Work closely with production staff to ensure procedures are followed
• Investigate quality issues and support corrective actions
• Take part in traceability exercises and product verification
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards across the site

Requirements

• Experience in a quality assurance role within food manufacturing
• Exposure to audit activity (internal or external)
• Background in meat processing or chilled/high-risk food production
• Working knowledge of HACCP and GMP principles
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment

Desirable

• Experience supporting third-party audits such as BRCGS
• Food-related qualification or relevant training
