Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Peterborough
Rate: £35.00 FCSA Umbrella (Inside IR35) or £25.50 PAYE
Duration: 12months – likely to extend
Key Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing engineering deliverables across all NPI gateways.
- Own readiness reviews and ensure ME inputs are approved prior to each gateway.
- Working with facility Manufacturing Engineers to ensure new processes work seamlessly with the existing manufacturing processes.
- Deliver process design, PFMEA, control plans, standard work and documentation.
- Manage tooling, fixtures, and equipment from specification to commissioning.
- Support prototype, pilot, and validation build phases, ensuring issues are resolved between gateways.
- Support PPAP, capability studies, risk management, and launch readiness metrics.
Requirements
- Strong NPI, programme delivery/ launch engineering experience in automotive or similar manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of precision manufacturing processes.
- Proven delivery within gated NPI processes.
- Strong PFMEA, control plan, statistical validation, and problem‑solving capability.
- Excellent stakeholder and technical leadership skills.
