Working as astatic class teacher, you’ll provide continuity,structure and consistent support across all areas of learning for asmall class of pupils with complex learning needs. Youwill deliver a pre-formal or semi-formal curriculum,aligned to learning pathways below the NationalCurriculum, adapting learning activities to meet individual EHCPtargets and each pupil’s developmentalstage.
You’llteach a small class of pupils, providing consistent teaching acrossall subjects to support their communication, emotionalregulation and independence. Working closely with askilled support team, therapists and families, you’ll help ensureevery child receives holistic, personalised support. We call thesehuge small victories and whilst they may seem small on the surface,they add up to make a bigdifference.
Getout what you put in
You’ll beworking with a small class of up to 10 pupils in Key Stage 1 and/orKey Stage 2, providing consistent support as their dedicated classteacher across all subjects. Our students have Autistic SpectrumDisorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)needs, and you’ll play a key role in helping them learn, developtheir abilities, and buildself-esteem.
You’ll workcollaboratively with a skilled team of teaching assistants andtherapy professionals, planning and delivering engaging,personalised learning experiences tailored to each pupil.Consistency, structure and positive relationships will be centralto your role as you support pupils to build confidence andindependence. This role requires resilience, dedication, andpatience, but the small victories you achieve each day will bemoments to be truly proudof.
