An opportunity has arisen for the post of an Information Governance Officer within the York & Scarborough Digital at York and Scarborough Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibilities
You will play a vital role in supporting the Trust’s compliance with data protection legislation and information governance standards. You will provide support to the Information Governance team to ensure delivery of the Information Governance Agenda. Responsibilities include supporting teams with Freedom of Information requests, answering IG related queries, maintaining IG administrative documents including Data Protection Impact Assessments, assisting with data breaches, and supporting compliance reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Confidentiality and Compliance knowledge will be required; additional training will be provided where necessary. We seek a candidate with an understanding and knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection legislation. The candidate should be able to work independently, use own initiative, work with sensitive and confidential information, and analyse complex information requiring interpretation to meet service requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to forge positive working relationships at all levels, good all-round IT skills (email, internet, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software), proactive problem solving skills and ability to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders of all grades are essential.
Location & Working Arrangements
The post is based in York but travel to other Trust sites may be required. You will have the ability to work remotely from different sites, including working from home in a hybrid way.
