Hours24 per week which may be increased to 28 per week depending uponthe needs of theorganisation.
CALCare looking for a dynamic and proactive Chief Officer to overseetheir ongoing operations and administration when the current postholder retires at the end of October 2026. The Chief Officer isresponsible for the financial running of the Association and thedelivery of professional support services to its member local(parish, community and town) councils and parishmeetings.
We arelooking for an experienced, self-motivated and efficient managerwith the ability to deal with a broad range of responsibilitiesfrom directing day-to-day operations, representing the sector andproviding strategic direction to the CALC Board ofDirectors.
To be thesuccessful candidate you will need to be able to demonstrateknowledge and understanding of the local government sector relativeto town, community and parish councils, the legislation that theymust comply with and their needs. You will be expected to buildrelationships across all levels of local government, keyorganisations and agencies, ensuring that local councils acrossCumbria have a voice locally andnationally.
Thesuccessful candidate will also hold the position of Companysecretary and will support the CALC Board, work closely withcouncillors and clerks across Cumbria and Strategic Partners. Thepost holder will also be expected to work outside core hours andtravel across Cumbria as and whenrequired.
