Junior CAD Engineer

We are seeking a motivated Junior Electrical CAD Engineer to join our Pre- Construction Department. This role is ideally suited to a recent graduate or early-career professional in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline who is keen to develop their technical design skills within a structured and supportive environment. The role will involve producing and developing electrical design drawings for live projects and gaining hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Produce and develop CAD drawings and technical schematics using AutoCAD, in line with project and company standards Support Engineers and Senior Designers in the preparation and development of engineering designs Update, revise, and issue drawings as projects progress through design and delivery stages Assist with the organisation, control, and maintenance of drawing registers and technical documentation Interpret basic design information and engineering calculations with guidance Attend project, design, and coordination meetings where appropriate Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and health & safety requirements Progressively take on greater responsibility as experience and competence increase Training & Development Opportunities Develop strong proficiency in electrical building services CAD standards Gain exposure to relevant regulations and standards Develop professional communication and coordination skills within a multi-disciplinary team Receive ongoing mentoring, feedback, and structured development support Progress towards greater design responsibility and long-term career advancement Essential Criteria A degree or equivalent qualification in: Electrical Engineering Construction / Built Environment Building Services Architecture or a related discipline Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD preferred) Strong attention to detail and a logical, methodical approach Willingness to learn and develop technical capability Ability to work effectively within a team environment Desirable Academic or project experience producing electrical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit Understanding of electrical building services systems from coursework or projects Familiarity with electrical symbols, layouts, and technical documentation Benefits: Company pension scheme 30 days of annual leave, with additional days awarded based on length of service.
