About the role
As an Azure Principal Platform Engineer, you will guide customers toward Cloud and DevOps excellence, designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and secure platforms while leading a team of cloud consultants and establishing Appvia’s internal solutions team.
About you
You are passionate about new technology and automation, experienced in leading an engineering team in Agile and DevOps best practices, and able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with prospective and existing customers to define and execute strategies for cloud and DevOps adoption
- Educate customers and stakeholders on the benefits and best practices of cloud‑native technologies
- Lead large, complex public cloud projects, providing strategic direction and selecting appropriate technologies
- Manage teams of platform engineers and consultants, fostering a positive and collaborative culture
- Engage with enterprise clients to understand their unique challenges and deliver tailored solutions
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and emerging technologies, contributing to industry knowledge through blogs and videos
Skills
- Platform engineering: designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and secure platforms
- Automation: infrastructure‑as‑code practices, tools (e.g., Terraform), and scripting languages (Python, Ruby)
- Container orchestration: Kubernetes and managed services (AKS)
- Public cloud expertise: Azure services, architecture, landing zones and best practices
- DevOps mastery: CI/CD, containerization, serverless technologies
Experience
- Leadership on large projects: proven experience delivering large, complex public cloud initiatives
- Team management and mentorship: extensive experience managing and mentoring teams
- Enterprise customer‑facing experience: significant engagement with enterprise clients, managing relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Continuous learning and industry involvement: commitment to staying current and contributing to industry knowledge
- Real‑world design and governance experience, particularly with: Conditional Access, Identity lifecycle and PIM, Entra ID Protection and integration with Defender or Sentinel
Qualifications
- Azure certification at expert/professional level (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert – AZ‑305, Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert – SC‑100, Microsoft Certified: Information Security Administrator Associate – SC‑401, Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate – SC‑300)
- Kubernetes administration certification (CKA, CKSS)
