Our Bolton Pet plant is seeking a Maintenance Manager—an accomplished leader with over 15 years of experience in manufacturing environments, including more than 5 years managing maintenance teams and 10 years in hands‑on technical roles. This individual is recognized for strong technical aptitude, a proven ability to engage and develop employees, and a results‑driven approach to achieving maintenance and production excellence.
What are we looking for?
- Managerial / leadership experience with proven results in driving team performance and operational excellence.
- Strong and demonstrated technical aptitude within a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing maintenance teams, with 10+ years of hands‑on technical experience in production settings.
- Required competencies include the ability to engage and motivate teams, develop employees, and maintain a results‑oriented focus.
- Experience in a maintenance‑oriented technical role, overseeing equipment reliability and process optimization.
- Responsible for managing a team of 17 direct reports.
- Background in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or qualifications as a Millwright or licensed Electrical Maintenance professional.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Directly manage all aspects of a team of shift‑based mechanics and electricians and be able to direct and collaborate with maintenance leaders and other support staff.
- Organize and lead reactive, corrective, and preventative maintenance of factory equipment.
- Responsible for all aspects of safety and food safety for plant maintenance activities.
- Manage maintenance related escalations from various functions to maintain a high level of customer service (Operations, Safety, Quality).
- Work closely with a broader team to ensure plant PM activities are in good standing.
- Lead MSE activities in the factory and with central teams. Ownership of BDE (breakdown elimination pillar within MSE).
- Drive loss elimination in support of optimizing production line efficiencies using data from site CMMS and data collection systems.
- Develop the skills and knowledge of the technical team in accordance with the needs of the factory.
- Develop and manage ways of working with key stakeholders.
- Lead maintenance projects and activities (safety/food safety/efficiency) aimed at the development and improvement of the factory.
