Assistant Director (Senior Manager), Deal Finance, Strategy & Execution, EY-Parthenon

The opportunity

As part of our Deal Finance team within the Strategy and Execution practice, we are looking for self-starters passionate about driving value for CFOs across sectors such as Advanced Manufacturing & Mobility, Telecommunications Media & Technology, Energy, Health Science & Wellness, and Private Equity.

Your key responsibilities

As an Assistant Director (Senior Manager), you will assist in business origination, including pitches and presentations to help sell work, and operate within a transaction environment under tight M&A timeframes and demands. You will be responsible for core client delivery activities, supporting engagement partners, and leading the team.

You will work with a team that:

  • Advise on the impact of merger and acquisition transactions on the finance function and across CFO priorities.
  • Provides advice on integration challenges, separation challenges, and ownership changes (public to private and vice versa).
  • Exhibits analytical and advisory skills across the deal lifecycle, focusing on operational due diligence and value creation, including P&L optimisation, maturity assessments, and modelling for scale and cost out.

To qualify for the role, you must:

  • Have extensive broad experience from working in transactions or finance functions as a consultant with a Big 4 or management consultancy. Industry experience in key finance areas (e.g., FP&A, Finance Control, Commercial/Operational Finance Business Partnering, CFO) may also be considered.
  • Be a qualified accountant – ACA, CIMA, or an internationally recognised equivalent finance qualification.
  • Possess strong academics and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate analytical capabilities.
  • Have experience leading change initiatives in previous roles.
