Raising Awareness for Imran Khan Cancer Appeal

A Student Ambassador acts as a voice for the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospitals within theiruniversity community.

This includes:

  • Educating peers about cancer awareness and prevention
  • Sharing the mission and achievements of the hospital
  • Explaining how charitable donations provide free or subsidised treatment
  • Promoting campaigns during key periods such as Ramadan or Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Ambassadors help others understand that many patients receiving treatment would otherwise be unable to afford care.

Ambassadors actively participate in and organise fundraising activities, such as:

  • Charity bake sales
  • Sponsored walks or sports events
  • University society collaborations
  • Ramadan collections

Their aim is not simply to raise funds, but to inspire collective generosity within their community.

  • Distributing leaflets and promotional materials
  • Hosting awareness stalls
  • Speaking briefly at assemblies or society meetings
  • Encouraging responsible and ethical fundraising

They act with integrity, ensuring that all activities reflect the values of the charity.

Acting with Integrity and Safeguarding Awareness

Student Ambassadors are expected to:

  • Follow safeguarding guidance (particularly if under 18)
  • Handle donations responsibly and transparently
  • Adhere to charity compliance policies
  • Report concerns appropriately

They are representatives of a respected institution and must act accordingly.

Becoming Champions of Hope

Beyond events and fundraising, the deeper role of a Student Ambassador is to:

  • Promote empathy and social responsibility
  • Encourage conversations around early diagnosis
  • Foster a culture of service within their educational setting
  • Develop leadership and communication skills
