FM Mechanical Engineer – Edinburgh

We’re on the lookout for an experienced FM Mechanical Engineer to join the team with a massive facilities management at a hospital in Edinburgh. This is a full-time, permanent role (37.5 hours per week) with a solid salary and great benefits.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be involved in maintenance and minor works across a variety of mechanical systems, including large industrial plant like dual-fired boilers and heating/ventilation systems. Day to day, you’ll:

• Fault find on complex systems (medical gas, heating water systems, steam systems, etc.)
• Diagnose issues using drawings, schematics, and cause-effect analysis
• Carry out planned maintenance, inspections, testing, and commissioning
• Complete reports, certificates, and update drawings where needed
• Work safely using the right tools and following all site procedures (risk assessments, infection control, fire safety, etc.)
• Use specialist equipment including test devices, welding kit, generators, and more

What we’re looking for

• Recognised Mechanical/Engineering apprenticeship
• C&G, SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
• Strong experience in mechanical maintenance (ideally within FM or similar environments)
• Able to pass a Disclosure Scotland PVG check
