Head of Finance

Overview

Head of Finance – Harrogate – up to £70,000 + Bonus. This isn’t just about keeping the numbers in check—it’s about taking ownership of a finance function that needs modernising and shaping for the future.

Responsibilities

• With multiple entities under one group, finance plays a crucial role in ensuring the business runs smoothly, scales effectively, and stays compliant.
• You’ll oversee everything from management accounts and payroll to tax compliance and audits.
• Advise senior leadership on strategic decisions, system improvements, and potential acquisitions.
• Lead a small, capable team, bringing structure, clarity, and commercial focus.
• You’ll be working directly with the senior leadership team, providing financial insight and ensuring key business decisions are backed by robust data.
• This role requires someone who is hands-on, commercially minded, and comfortable challenging the status quo.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in a regulated business would be an advantage, but what really matters is the ability to drive change, manage financial controls, and improve processes.
• If you’ve got a strong grasp of audit, tax, and compliance, along with the leadership skills to develop a team, this could be the next step in your career.
• Qualified financial controller who thrives on solving problems and improving systems.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: GBP65000 – GBP70000 per annum + Bonus. Up to £70,000 salary with discretionary bonus; subsidised private medical insurance and other ad hoc perks.
