Qualifications
To be successful as Health and Safety Manager/H&S Manager, you will have a healthy mix of the following:
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field;
- OR a relevant professional qualification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent).
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Ideally 1–3+ years of practical experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a manufacturing, office, or similar environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Solid understanding of UK health and safety legislation (e.g., HSWA 1974, Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999).
- Valid driving licence (as travel between sites is required).
