We are seeking a proactive and experienced Risk and Change Manager in Newcastle. The Risk and Change Manager will lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of project risks, while managing change control processes across large-scale EPC projects. This role is on a one-year contract based outside of IR35.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive risk registers for EPC projects
- Facilitate risk workshops with cross-functional teams to identify and assess risks
- Quantify risk impact and probability using qualitative and quantitative methods
- Monitor risk mitigation plans and escalate critical risks to senior leadership
- Integrate risk management into project planning and decision-making processes
Change Management
- Establish and manage a robust change control process across all project phases
- Evaluate change requests for scope, cost, schedule, and contractual impact
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to assess feasibility
- Maintain a change log and ensure timely approvals and documentation
- Liaise with clients and subcontractors to negotiate and communicate change impacts
Governance & Reporting
- Prepare regular risk and change reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Support audits and compliance reviews related to risk and change processes
- Ensure alignment with corporate risk frameworks and project controls standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in risk and change management within EPC or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle, contract management, and commercial implications
- Proficiency in risk tools (e.g., @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis) and change control systems
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- APM, PMI, or PRINCE2 certification
- Experience with NEC or FIDIC contract frameworks
- Familiarity with digital project management platforms (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, SharePoint)
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
