Laboratory Technician (Temporary) Lactalis UK & Ireland

Working Hours: Part-time, Temporary: £12.61 /hour + shift premium

Are you a student or someone looking for temporary work this summer? Lactalis Stranraer, part of the world’s largest dairy company, is seeking a laboratory technician to join our Quality team. This temporary position runs until 1st September 2025.

What You’ll Do

• Organise and submit samples for microbiology and chemistry testing.
• Collect samples of raw materials, rinse water, ingredients, and finished products.
• Download results and report any issues.
• Perform environmental and plant swabbing and maintain good housekeeping practices.

What We’re Looking For

• Knowledge of food science and lab testing processes (previous lab experience is a plus!).
• A positive, “can do” attitude and the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (training available for the right candidate).
• Hourly rate: £12.61.
• Approximately 520 hours for the summer period.
• Holiday hours and shift premium included.
• Shift and weekend work involved, with shifts up to 10 hours, starting at 6:00 AM.
