Job Description:

Do you want to join a global pioneer that is investing in, developing, and shaping the future of sustainable construction?

Do you thrive in an environment where commercial leaders are empowered to hunt, protect market share, and deliver real-world growth? This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful, Tier 1 European manufacturer that prides itself on innovation, technical expertise, and getting the very best out of the forest.

With a unique, fully integrated supply chain—owning the resource from seed to finished product—and a refined UK strategy focused on long-term sustainable partnerships, the business is now seeking a Regional Sales Manager. Your mission: to execute a sophisticated merchant-led strategy and drive the next phase of market penetration across.

The Role

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this is a pivotal territory leadership role. You will be responsible for the regional commercial roadmap, including the growth and expansion of our premium timber and engineered wood products (EWP) within the national and independent merchant sectors.

You will translate our global scientific and manufacturing excellence into regional profit, working closely with major buying groups and Merchants to ensure our products are sold. You’ll play a key role in identifying new high-value opportunities, navigating a competitive landscape, and ensuring our brand stays at the forefront of the UK’s transition to sustainable building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Regional Growth: Full ownership of the sales roadmap, identifying and securing new merchant accounts while maximising existing partnerships.
  • Strategic Execution: Design and deliver a territory plan that prioritises high-margin, technical products over simple volume-chasing.
  • Commercial Leadership: Deliver against rigorous sales targets and growth plans, providing accurate forecasting and market intelligence.
  • Technical Advocacy: Act as a specialist consultant to the merchant network, promoting the performance advantages of our engineered wood solutions.

About You

  • Industry Pedigree: Deep experience in Timber or Heavy-Side Building Materials is essential. You must understand the “language of Merchants” and the mechanics of the UK construction supply chain.
  • The Network: A strong, established track record of winning and growing business within Builders’ Merchants (National and Independent) is required.
  • The Mindset: You are a commercially sharp “Hunter” who enjoys opening doors and building long-term, profitable partnerships.
  • Education/Experience: While a degree is valued, a minimum of 5 years’ field sales experience in construction products is essential (10+ years is preferred).
  • Drive: You are self-motivated, comfortable in a high-autonomy field role, and possess the negotiation skills to close complex, high-value deals.
