Senior HR Advisor | Lead | London | Hybrid

A leading law firm is seeking a Lead Senior HR Advisor to play a pivotal role in delivering a high‑quality, commercially focused HR service across the business.

This is a senior advisory and people‑leadership role, combining hands‑on HR delivery with oversight of HR Advisors and Assistants, and close partnership with HR Business Partners and senior stakeholders.

The role

  • Lead and supervise a central team of HR Advisors and HR Assistants, providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance
  • Deliver end‑to‑end HR advisory support across the employee lifecycle for designated client groups
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers on complex employee relations matters, including performance, absence, and investigations
  • Oversee HR workflow management, shared inboxes, SLAs, and process efficiency
  • Support recruitment activity from role approval through onboarding, working closely with Talent Acquisition
  • Draft and amend job descriptions and lead job evaluation for new roles
  • Prepare business cases for headcount approvals and intention‑to‑hire requests
  • Ensure compliance with employment law, regulatory obligations, and internal HR policies
  • Use HR data and metrics to provide insight, reporting, and decision‑making support
  • Contribute to firmwide people initiatives including DE&I, wellbeing, reward, and performance management
  • Lead and coordinate HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives

About you

  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience as a Senior HR Advisor, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Confident managing and developing HR team members
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Comfortable advising on sensitive and complex people matters
  • Highly organised, detail‑driven, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Proficient with HR systems and Microsoft Office
