An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical Building Services Manager to join a major £18m MEP complex within a flagship life sciences park in Cambridge. This is a high-profile project delivering state-of-the-art facilities in one of the UK’s leading life sciences hubs.
The Role
You will take full responsibility for the mechanical package across a technically complex development, ensuring successful delivery from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. This role is ideal for someone with strong commercial awareness and a proven track record in delivering high-value MEP projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all mechanical building services activities on site
- Manage coordination of MEP design, installation, and commissioning
- Drive programme and ensure delivery to time, cost, and quality targets
- Oversee subcontractors, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance
- Liaise with consultants, clients, and project stakeholders
- Manage procurement, budgets, and value engineering opportunities
- Ensure adherence to UK building regulations and industry standards
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a Mechanical BSM or Senior Mechanical Manager
- Strong track record delivering complex MEP packages (£10m+ preferred)
- Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or similar environments advantageous
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills
- Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
