Commercial Finance Manager

Commercial Finance Manager | London – Hybrid | Contract – 6 Months 70-85k (DOE) | Retail

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and manage robust forecasting models and annual budgets, ensuring assumptions are well‑challenged and commercially sound
• Lead financial evaluation of new store opportunities, relocations and closures, delivering feasibility models and scenario analysis to guide investment decisions
• Review the performance of the global retail portfolio, highlighting opportunities for optimisation and operational improvement
• Track the effectiveness of store incentive schemes and assess whether they are delivering the intended commercial outcomes
• Collaborate with Finance Operations to ensure month‑end performance accurately reflects the trading reality, offering commentary on key variances
• Analyse retail labour and payroll costs, evaluating productivity and supporting teams to optimise staffing models in line with sales trends
• Partner with Merchandising and Buying to report on intake, margin expectations, committed stock
• Provide commercial analysis and support on an ad hoc basis for senior Finance leaders

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA or CIMA)
• 2 + Years PQE
• Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to question assumptions and provide insight into complex financial data
