Food Safety Officer

A Hampshire based Council are seeking an experienced Health Protection / Food Safety Officer to support its Health Protection team on a temporary basis.

• Location: Hampshire
• Contract: 3 months (possible extension)
• Hours: 30–37 per week
• Start: Ideally before Monday 20th April
• Type: Outside IR35

Key Requirements

• Competency under the Food Law Code of Practice (England) to inspect Category C–E food premises
• Strong experience carrying out food hygiene/standards inspections
• Ability to work on district at least 60% of the week (visits and office‑based)
• Full driving licence and access to a suitably insured vehicle
• Eligible to work in the UK (ID checks required)

Desirable

• Competency to inspect all categories (A–E)
• Experience with approved premises
• Familiarity with local council systems (e.g., Uniform)
