Location: St Neots
Job Description:

Robert Half is proud to be partnering with a growing, values-driven organisation to recruit a Finance Business Partner on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a commercially focused finance team in a role that blends strong technical accounting with true business partnering and strategic involvement.

The organisation is entering a period of continued growth and transformation, including investment in systems, process improvement, and acquisition activity. As such, this role offers excellent exposure to senior stakeholders, commercial decision-making, and high-impact projects. We are particularly interested in candidates trained within a Top 10 accounting firm who are looking to step into a broad, commercially focused industry role.

The Role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Business Partner will act as a trusted advisor to the Commercial function, providing insight, challenge, and support to drive performance and informed decision-making. This role combines analytical rigour with stakeholder engagement and will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives, systems development, and acquisition activity.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Building strong relationships with the Commercial team, acting as their primary financial partner
  • Providing insightful analysis on revenue, margin, profitability, and key performance indicators
  • Challenging assumptions and supporting strategic planning and decision-making
  • Delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, including variance and trend analysis
  • Supporting month-end processes, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
  • Leading and supporting cross-functional projects, including process improvements and system enhancements
  • Driving system integration and optimisation to ensure finance processes are efficient and scalable
  • Supporting acquisition activity, including financial due diligence, modelling, and post-acquisition integration
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across finance, operations, and senior leadership

You:

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with strong technical foundations and a commercial mindset. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, partnering with non-finance stakeholders, and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

This role would suit someone making their first or second move from practice, particularly from a Top 10 firm, or an existing Finance Business Partner seeking broader exposure to projects, systems, and M&A activity.

You will likely have:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
  • Training within a Top 10 accounting firm, with strong grounding in financial reporting and analysis
  • Experience delivering commercial or financial analysis to support business decisions
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
  • Advanced analytical skills, including experience building financial or statistical models
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience supporting projects, process improvements, or system implementations
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally during the initial onboarding period

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary up to £60,000
  • £5,000 car allowance
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Hybrid working model (2 days in the office / 3 days from home)
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Exposure to systems transformation and acquisition activity
  • Clear opportunity for progression as the business continues to grow
