Head of Group Assets (Property Management)
Thirteen Group is seeking a Head of Group Assets to lead the effective management of our property interests and maximise value across our diverse asset portfolio. The role will facilitate and manage asset disposals and acquisitions, renegotiate property terms on existing stock, and oversee the commercial portfolio to secure best value in both asset and income terms. As the lead expert on asset interests, you’ll provide clear direction on freehold, leasehold and complex tenure arrangements, ensuring the organisation’s ownership, control and financial position are protected and optimised. This hybrid role includes working from home with occasional days in the Hudson Quay office in Middlesbrough.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive key property transactions across the portfolio, including disposals, acquisitions and mergers
- Lead initiatives to enhance asset performance and support strategic decision‑making using data and insights for property viability, repurposing, or disposal
- Oversee property management for land and commercial portfolios, delivering repair and management programmes and managing landlord & tenant services (rents, leases, purchases, sales)
- Overall responsibility for facilities management, contracts and supplier performance
- Embed strategies to maximise value and performance across a diverse commercial asset base, managing risk and regulatory changes
Qualifications / About You
- Significant experience in a commercial property role, with technical knowledge and grounding in property management; MRICS accreditation desirable or in progress
- In‑depth knowledge of the Landlord and Tenants Act and strategy/policy development in the commercial sector
- Expertise in leasing, letting, leaseholds, landlord and tenancy management
- Strong people manager, skilled in leading, inspiring and motivating teams
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills to engage stakeholders, customers and senior leaders
