Join us as Senior Manager, Group Internal Audit Analytics with AIA Investment Management! With strong data analytics skillsets, the investment audit specialist will play a crucial role in supporting our Group Internal Audit (GIA) becoming a digitally enabled and data‑driven internal audit team that provides proactive assurance to management. This role will provide key analytical support to the GIA team, enhancing audit efficiency and effectiveness through data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Provide value‑adding audit and business insights from data analysis using data analytic tools.
- Design, develop, test and document data modelling (includes data sourcing, data preparation, data transformation, and modelling) to assist in population and scoping analysis, sampling, testing, and issue impact justification.
- Support routine data analytics using tools such as SQL, Python, Databricks and Tableau, as well as advanced analytics, such as unsupervised and semi‑supervised machine learning, to detect unusual or anomalous patterns.
- Support ad‑hoc or specialised assignments as needed.
- Implement and maintain data in the GIA data warehouse.
- Support audit engagements by scripting data analysis procedures in SQL or Python using Databricks or the Tableau platform, focusing on key risks and/or controls specific to the audit processes in scope, and uncovering meaningful insights for the audit team and management.
- Provide insight and guidance on the interpretation of reported exceptions/analytics outputs so that appropriate actions can be taken by the audit team.
- Support audits within the AMCs network in accordance with the annual audit plans approved by the AMCs’ Boards and/or Local Audit Committee.
- Prepare the working papers, draft audit reports, and other deliverables to meet internal standards and assignments are completed within budgeted time.
Requirements
- More than 5 years of audit working experience (preferably Investment Banking/Asset Management) with at least 2 years of experience performing or leading analytics in a team.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree. A Major in Computer Science/Data Analytics or equivalent is an advantage.
- Minimum one year of data analysis and/or programming experience. Data Science knowledge is an advantage (basic understanding of statistics – Correlation, Regression).
- Good understanding of analytics techniques, and proven ability to understand problem statements and identify opportunities for analytics.
- Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, data processing, and data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau) is essential.
- Proficiency in Machine Learning techniques, such as unsupervised machine learning and graph analytics, is preferred.
- Knowledge of Spark/Databricks is preferred.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent analytical, written/verbal communication, problem‑solving, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet milestones within time, cost and quality constraints.
- Ability to adapt to changes quickly and multi‑task.
- Works well in a team environment.
