THE MECHANICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER ROLE:
As Mechanical Engineering Lead, you will lead a team delivering mechanical and electromechanical systems across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to in-service support. You will oversee engineering outputs, drive continuous improvement, and ensure delivery against technical, cost and schedule targets. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for capability development, resource planning, and maintaining high engineering standards across multiple defence programmes.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Proven experience delivering mechanical or electromechanical systems within defence, maritime or aerospace
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, analysis and manufacturing processes
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams
- Ability to review and approve engineering designs, drawings and analyses
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- SC clearance or eligibility
