Job Overview
We’re looking to recruit a 0.3 Principal Arts Psychotherapist. The successful candidate will currently be working as an Arts Therapist (including as an Art Psychotherapist, Dance Movement Psychotherapist, Music Psychotherapist or Drama Psychotherapist) within EPUT. In addition to their existing role, they will take on clinical supervision of other Arts Therapists and trainees, assist with the coordination of placements, and provide clinical leadership to Arts Therapists across EPUT.
Main duties of the job
- Provide clinical leadership to Arts Psychotherapy staff across EPUT, supporting the highest quality of clinical delivery of Arts Psychotherapies by staff in all approaches across the Trust.
- Encourage Arts Psychotherapists to engage as embedded team members with locality development, supporting learning and other projects.
- Meet regularly with Arts Psychotherapists across all approaches to ensure appropriate levels of supervision are in place.
- Provide specialist clinical supervision to Arts Psychotherapy staff.
- Provide guidance, consultation and specialist supervision to other professionals as appropriate.
- Ensure engagement with research, audits, monitoring and evaluation where relevant to clinical practice.
- Assist with and contribute to the recruitment of Arts Psychotherapists, where appropriate.
- Manage and support placements with other Arts Psychotherapists.
- Maintain a network of support for all Arts Psychotherapists.
- Support initiatives such as contributions to conferences and internal development days for Arts Psychotherapists.
- Contribute to the representation of Arts Psychotherapists within the Trust.
- Work in line with the principles of trauma‑informed care and contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care.
