Overview

Here at South Thames Colleges Group, we are seeking a Human Resources Advisor to support the activities associated with the recruitment and onboarding of staff and agency workers. Working closely with the Head of HR (Staff Recruitment & Onboarding), the Staff Recruitment and Onboarding Manager, and the Staff Recruitment Co‑ordinator, you’ll perform administrative duties in support of the HR function and the processes associated with the delivery of the recruitment and onboarding service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of staff and agency workers.
  • Liaise with new starters and managers to ensure a timely onboarding service.
  • Provide information on planned start dates and progress of compliance checks prior to an individual’s commencement.
  • Enter and maintain required compliance information, including agency compliance details, in the HR System.
  • Add onboarding information for new starters and offer advice and guidance to managers and staff on policies and procedures related to recruitment, onboarding and compliance.
  • Support broader HR activities when needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HR administration, generalist or recruitment and onboarding focused roles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and prioritisation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a range of internal and external contacts.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Well‑organised, able to manage tasks and deadlines calmly and effectively.
  • Proficient in the use of IT at Level 2/Intermediate level including Word, Excel, databases and Outlook, with the ability to create reports and adhere to systems and procedures.
  • Positive and flexible in approach, with a willingness to get involved and support broader HR activities when required.

Location

This post will predominantly be based at South Thames College, Wandsworth but you may be required to work from all STCG sites.
