ICP Engineer / Manager – Utility Scale Projects – Remote with travel
Earthstream Global is working with and international renewables EPC that is seeking an experienced ICP Engineer / Manager to take ownership of 132 kV grid connection activities across multiple projects.
This is a hands-on role suited to a technical, self-sufficient professional who is confident managing ICP’s and ensuring delivery against programme, cost, and quality expectations.
You will work closely with internal project teams, ICPs, DNOs, suppliers, and clients, playing a critical role in the successful delivery of 132kV grid connection works nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage 132kV grid connection activities during the construction phase, ensuring time, cost, and quality targets are met
- Lead and control Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), holding contractors accountable for delivery and performance
- Lead technical assurance of all ICP deliverables, reviewing and approving HV/LV designs, SLDs, and ensuring compliance with ENA, DNO/IDNO, G99/G100, BS, and client standards
- Support responses to RFQs for HV and grid connection works, including sourcing quotations from ICPs and HV equipment suppliers
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop project budgets and client proposals
- Drive continuous improvement and optimisation of grid connection processes
Skills and experience:
- Academic background in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience as a Grid Connections/ICP Engineer, or similar role, gained within an ICP, DNO, National Grid, or Solar EPC environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly organised with strong time management and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted internal and external relationships
- Willingness to travel across the UK
