Location: Isle of Wight

Salary: £35,392 – £42,618 per annum + 10% Welcome Bonus

Contract: Permanent, Full-time hours

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting for a Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join a specialist prison healthcare service providing integrated mental health and substance misuse care within a secure setting.

Role Overview

In this role, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of service users with complex mental health needs
  • Complete comprehensive assessments, care planning, and reviews
  • Act as a Care Coordinator under the CPA framework
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions (1:1 and group work)
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency and offender health teams
  • Support individuals from initial assessment through to discharge or release
  • Facilitate hospital transfers under the Mental Health Act where required
  • Provide clinical guidance and supervision to junior staff

Requirements

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Significant experience within mental health services
  • Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act
  • Experience delivering interventions such as CBT, counselling, or motivational interviewing
  • Experience in supervision or leadership desirable
  • Ability to work effectively in a secure and fast-paced environment

Important Information

  • This is a prison-based role
  • Prison clearance is essential prior to commencement (support provided through the process)
  • Some weekend working may be required
